Responsibilities for Branding Specialist

  • Manage and enhance a Hitchats, the acts and the artists brand or reputation in the public’s eye
  • Coordinate objectives with marketing and the production departments

The choreography coach is responsible for developing our artists together with the Talent Manager and is involved in ensuring the talents are building their careers according to the T-pop concept and become world-class artists, similar to the K-pop acts BTS and BlackPink.

Hitchat is always on the lookout for great choreography coaches to ensure our artists get well-rounded training.

Responsibilities for Choreography Coach

  • Developing the dancing skills of the artists
  • Improve the artists physicality
  • Create dance routines and choreography for acts
  • Prepare the artists for live performances
  • Implements training-from and approach that is inspired by K-pop but with inspiration from local dances and moves under the name of T-pop
  • Give creativity to the artist
  • Work out a schedule with the artist

The Content Producer is responsible for creating content that helps the Social Media Specialist grow the acts and the talent fanbase exponentially by producing engaging content in various forms. The ultimate goal is to grow the acts and the talents fanbase exponentially, spreading the word about T-pop on social media. We are looking to create the BTS and BlackPink of South Africa.

Responsibilities of Content Producer

  • Daily produce new engaging high-quality content according to the content and marketing plans
  • Update existing material
  • Identify and plan for new types of content that appeal to fanbase interest
  • Create and implement brand identity for Hitchat as well as the Hitchat acts
  • Writing, reviewing, editing and updating content for all Hitchats marketing channels including the website
  • With the help from the Marketing Specialist follow up daily on the metrics/measurements from different activities on social media and with influencers and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Consider brand awareness and online reputation of Hitchat as well as acts when content is created
  • Collaborate with Talent Managers, Creative Manager, Event Manager and Partnership sales to ensure the correct content is created at any given time
  • Ensure lead generation and sales

  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends on social media
  • Work towards a set of social media goals and KPIs

Qualifications of Content Producer

  • 3 years proven experience as a Content Producer or similar role, preferably within the music industry

This exciting role as a partnership sales associate includes planning, executing and bringing in brands that have a genuine interest for the well being of youth in disadvantaged areas. Who wants to be part of a feel-good community with an objective to engage deeply with 1-5 million youth between 15-25 years on a long term basis. To be embedded in the community as a natural part of the local youth behaviour. Engagement can range from naming the T-pop house and the reality show to products that could be showcased daily or just as a good corporate citizen that wants to engage with youth in disadvantaged areas.

Responsibilities of Partnership Sales

  • Create a systematic, process-driven approach to partner outreach and relationship management
  • Identify and source partnership opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls, emails and client visits
  • Research partners, identify key players and generate interest
  • Collaborate with senior management and other marketing teammates to align our internal goals with new and existing partner relationships
  • Negotiate and finalize deals in accordance with company’s contract guidelines and policies
  • Deliver a great experience to our partners when working with our organization – you will represent our brand and be our partners’ liaison internally
  • Forecast, measure, and report the results of various projects with partners, including co-created and/or co-branded content promotions, lead sharing, and/or event partnerships

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for growing the acts and the talents fanbase exponentially by implementing successful marketing practices with the ultimate goal of growing the acts and the talents fanbase exponentially, spreading the word about T-pop on social media. We are looking to create the BTS and BlackPink of South Africa.

Responsibilities for Social Media Specialist

  • Generate, edit, publish & share engaging content with the help from the Content Producer (i.e. original text, photos, videos and news)
  • Ensure content is posted daily (sometimes several times per day) and weekly, depending the channel, on both the act profiles and the Hitchat profiles
  • Daily engage with followers and start conversations with them as well as respond to queries within 24 hours on weekdays
  • Work with growth & conversion on all of Hitchats marketing channels and ensure the Hitchat acts has a growing social media presence
  • Take part in planning general marketing strategy with specific focus on social media & influencer strategy such as music releases, auditions and other activities.
  • Daily look for new influencers in townships across South Africa, connect with them and developing long-term relations via our influencer program
  • With the help from the Marketing Analyst Specialist follow up daily on the metrics/measurements from different activities on social media and with influencers and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Work with brand awareness and online reputation of Hitchat as well as acts
  • Online community participation, primarily on Facebook, interacting on other relevant pages to attract fans & followers

The Talent Manager works closely with the Creative Director to produce songs, music videos and dance videos. The Talent Manager also works closely with the Social Media Specialist and the Content Producer to coordinate marketing activities and campaigns for the act and talents. The Talent Manager also works closely with the Event Manager to coordinate live events for the artists, both internal and external.

The Talent Manager also coordinates the sessions with coaches, stylists and other relevant personnel that work closely with the talents.

Responsibilities of Talent Manager

  • Working on a daily basis with the talents, constantly doing things to improve the chances of them succeeding as an act
  • Work according to the act brief provided by the Chief Production Officer and scout talent according to the brief and the processes in place. This includes casting talent for the right roles, following the brand guidelines and make sure that the talent have the potential to become T-pop artists
  • Casting and cutting trainees according to the criteria set up by the Chief Production Officer
  • In charge of the trainees, the auditions, the evaluations and of putting the group together
  • Responsible for the dynamic of the group and the trainees
  • Make sure the talents are doing well, both physically and mentally
  • Feed the talents with confidence / tough love
  • Ensures the talents create content for social media purposes
  • Create an act that continuously grow their fanbase (social media following on relevance channels), shows great professionalism and are able to deliver high quality song & choreography at all times
  • Stay informed of the trends of the industry and best practices
  • Ensure marketing activities around the auditions and training are done by the marketing department
  • Ensure the Chief Production Officer stays updated on talents and reports on progress.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as for marketing activities, events, song production, etc. and make sure the departments have all info they need to execute accordingly
  • Staying within budget for activities with the talents
  • Hiring and firing coaches and other personnel related to the talent training
  • Ensure talents understand what they are signing up for and the work required before auditioning
  • Arrange onboarding sessions with trainees with the goal to provide them with the big picture of Hitchat and make sure they understand the terms and conditions within the agreements they sign.
  • Anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time and implement solutions

Responsibilities for Vocal Coach

  • Coaching artists mentally and vocally through the process
  • Develops the artists vocal skills
  • Rehearse songs that the artists are to record or perform
  • Work with the artists emotional and physical connection with the song so that the talents apply physical changes and gestures where applicable
  • Work with the artist pitch
  • Prepare the artists so that they can perform the songs with confidence
  • Help out, within the service providers area of expertise, where it is needed

I have worked most of my working life in digital businesses in various industries and roles.

Hitchat is the first time I have been in the music industry. It is extremely rewarding to work in such a creative atmosphere.

Andrew here! The Creative / Talent Manager for 4iAM. I have been assisting the ladies in their journey since day one. I love being part of Hitchat Entertainment for its trendsetting ideas and genuine company culture and values.

My experience ranges from playing in bands, being part of the local music atmosphere, working behind the scenes in radio and on-air presenting and also worked PR for international clients among other things.

I believe Hitchat is at the forefront of creating new ways for the music industry to evolve and in turn, give back the power of music and entertainment to the community.

Mamorena

Mamorena Matsoso has 12 years of teaching experience in higher institutions of learning particularly in the field of Accounting and Entrepreneurship.  She is currently lecturing Entrepreneurship and Business Strategy at the Raymond Ackerman Academy of Entrepreneurship Development, UCT-GSB. Mamorena is also one of the directors at Ubambano Women SA Entrepreneurship Forum, an NPO designed to support and empower women in entrepreneurship.

Mamorena chose Hitchat to explore something new although aligned with her interest. She is passionate about education and the development of youth, particularly young women. She is thrilled to become part of the Hitchat family where she will be working with young girls, moulding, equipping and training them to be the best that they can be as responsible citizens and future leaders (role models) in the music industry.
